By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize head into halftime with a 1–0 lead over St. Martin in their final Group A match of the Concacaf Men’s Under‑20 Championship, thanks to a composed 31st‑minute finish by Eddie Williams and a standout first‑half performance from Marlon Meza Jr.

Meza has been operating at a high level, dictating the tempo and driving Belize’s attack. His sharp movement through midfield created the breakthrough, slicing past two defenders ahead of an approaching third defender before releasing Williams, who calmly slotted home the opener.

At the other end, Belize’s own keeper Najabder Patt produced a brilliant stop in the 34th minute, diving full stretch to deny a dangerous effort and preserve the advantage.

Belize nearly doubled their lead minutes later, but St. Martin were kept in the match by a spectacular save from their goalkeeper.

With only the group winner advancing to the next round of qualifiers for the Brazil 2027 FIFA U20 World Cup, Belize are focused on securing third place. They entered the match with 6 points, while St. Martin began with 4, making this a direct battle for position. A draw or win secures third place for Belize; a St. Martin victory would push them ahead.

Belize return for the second half looking to maintain control and close their campaign on a strong note.
