By Aaron Humes: The deaths of Luke and Evadnie Jones were almost certainly directly related to an escalation of social media activity stemming from gang rivalry, Police Commissioner Dr. Richard Rosado told reporters this afternoon.

Police are pursuing “persons of interest” whom the Commissioner declined to identify. He also noted that Patrick “Pato” Jones, the man at the center of the feud, is wanted for questioning. Jones made the initial threats via social media and further ones after his relatives were killed.

The Department’s Cyber Crime Unit was actively monitoring social media prior and up to the killing but the Commissioner blamed widespread resharing of Jones’ live broadcast for the escalation of tensions, hence his warning via press release issued on Sunday afternoon.
