By Zoila Palma: Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado has indicated that he welcomes interim Minister of Home Affairs Julius Espat’s balanced approach to policing.
“I had a brief discussion with him, and I believe he brings a fresh perspective to policing. His perspective would be able to challenge our assumption and create better strategies for us within the Police Department. I gather that he supports a more balanced approach in policing-one that encompasses combining effective policing, targeted social intervention program,” Rosado explained during an interview with 7News Belize.
The COMPOL said that he supports that initiative because it will be able to allow the police to suppress crime today and prevent it from happening tomorrow.
“I believe the leadership within the Police Department, whoever is the minister, we will work along with them, and I believe they will all bring a fresh perspective that will challenge our assumptions in how we on policing,” COMPOL Rosado added.
