By Zoila Palma: Commissioner of Police Dr. A. Richard Rosado hosted a senior commanders’ luncheon on December 18, 2025, at the National Police Training Academy Recreational Hall, bringing together the department’s leadership to reflect on the year’s achievements and challenges.
In attendance were Minister of Home Affairs and Enterprise Oscar Mira and Chief Executive Officer Rear Admiral Elton Bennett.
In his address, Commissioner Rosado described the senior commanders as the standard bearers of the police department and the critical link between rank-and-file officers and the Office of the Commissioner of Police.
Reflecting on 2025, he acknowledged the many challenges faced and obstacles overcome, noting both the successes achieved and the difficulties endured.
He expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by commanders, including missed family events and personal time, in order to keep communities safe.
CEO Bennett encouraged the commanders to reflect on what first inspired them to join the police service, whether through a role model, a community experience, or a personal calling.
He urged them to consider how they can now serve as role models themselves, inspiring the next generation of officers who look to them for guidance and leadership.
Minister Mira also addressed the gathering, recognizing the difficult decisions and high standards upheld by the department’s leadership.
He paid tribute to the families of police officers, noting that their patience and support make effective policing possible.
As the year draws to a close, he called on the leadership to recommit to strengthening accountability, leadership, and trust in the new year.
