By Breaking Belize News Staff: Area Representative for Collet, Patrick Faber has issued an open complaint to Digi for unsolicited advertising messages.
“I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the current practices of Digi, specifically regarding the incessant flow of advertising messages from various businesses. This unsolicited barrage of advertisements is a clear abuse of the trust and privacy expected in a customer-provider relationship,” Faber said.
In addition, Faber says that “Digi is monetizing access to customer contact information, allowing various businesses to send their promotional content without the consent or interest of the recipients. Not only does this practice disregard customer preferences, but it also fails to offer any reciprocal benefits to those whose privacy is being compromised.”
Faber calls on the company to respect the boundaries of customer communication.
“Engaging in such practices without explicit consent is not only intrusive but also tarnishes the company’s reputation.
I’m hoping this matter is addressed promptly,” Faber expressed.
Notably, besides ads from the company, Faber showed screenshot of ads from other companies in Belize.
