By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A cold front approaching Belize is expected to bring wetter and more unsettled weather conditions starting Monday, following generally fair conditions today.
According to the National Meteorological Service, skies will remain mostly sunny today with little or no rainfall, but this calm weather pattern will begin to change as cloud cover increases on Monday.
Showers are expected to develop first offshore and along some coastal areas, before spreading inland by Monday evening. The cold front is forecast to bring periods of rain and a chance of isolated thunderstorms, affecting most parts of the country.
Marine conditions are expected to remain choppy, with east to southeast winds of 5 to 15 knots and waves between 3 and 5 feet, requiring caution for marine operators.
Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and prepare for deteriorating conditions as the cold front moves across the region.
