By Horace Palacio: After weeks of predominantly fair and dry weather, Belize is preparing for a shift in conditions as a cold front approaches the region, bringing increased moisture and instability.

According to the National Meteorological Service, cloudy skies will develop throughout the day, with showers and isolated thunderstorms expected to intensify this evening and continue into tonight. The change marks a temporary break in the hot, dry conditions that have gripped the country.

Marine conditions are also impacted, with easterly to northeasterly winds at 5–15 knots generating moderate to rough seas and waves between 5–7 feet. A small craft caution is in effect, and mariners are urged to navigate carefully or remain in safe harbor.

Coastal areas can expect daytime highs around 86°F (30°C) and nighttime lows of 75°F (24°C), while inland areas will reach highs of 92°F (33°C).

The forecast outlook indicates continued wet conditions on Tuesday, particularly in southern, coastal, and offshore areas, with activity tapering off by Tuesday night.
