By Horace Palacio: Belizeans awoke to sunny skies and comfortable temperatures on Thursday as a cold front near the country ushered in dry and fair conditions, according to the National Meteorological Service.
While sunshine will dominate, there’s a slight chance of a few cloudy spells, mainly during the day. Isolated showers may develop, but these will likely be confined to the southern coast and offshore areas.
Coastal areas can expect highs around 83°F (28°C), while inland areas will see highs near 82°F (28°C). Those venturing to the hills can expect the coolest temperatures, with highs around 72°F (22°C). Evening temperatures will bring some relief, dropping to the low 70s along the coast, mid-60s inland, and low 60s in the hills.
Boaters and those heading to the cayes should be aware that marine conditions will be moderate to rough. Northwest winds will blow at 10-20 knots, with waves reaching 4-7 feet.
The pleasant weather is set to continue. Fair and cool conditions are expected to prevail with little to no rainfall on Friday and Friday night.
The tropics remain quiet, with no tropical cyclone formation expected in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours.
