By Aaron Humes: Police have formally arrested and charged a Belizean Coast Guardsman, Brian Chiac, 25, with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and wounding.
Initial investigations commenced on Monday, November 24, about 5:00 a.m., when police responded to a report on Gibnut Street, Belize City. Upon arrival, they found a female 24-year-old Police Constable unresponsive. She was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
The victim later reported that around 3:35 a.m. on the same date, she and her common-law husband Chiac had an argument which led to Chiac stabbing her multiple times and threatening to kill her.
