By Horace Palacio: A relatively moist northerly airflow is influencing Belize’s weather today, resulting in cloudy skies with sunny breaks and periods of rain in some areas. Showers or light rain are anticipated this morning, primarily offshore and along coastal regions, shifting inland by the afternoon with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Tonight, skies will range from partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with mostly isolated showers, except for a few additional showers expected offshore and in southern areas.
Marine conditions feature light northwesterly winds at 5-15 knots, slight seas, and waves ranging from 1-3 feet. Daytime temperatures are forecasted to reach 85°F (29°C) inland, 83°F (28°C) along the coast, and a cooler 71°F (21°C) in the hills.
The outlook for Friday and Friday night indicates cloudy intervals with generally isolated showers, though a few more showers could develop offshore and in southern regions.
Today’s tidal schedule includes a low tide at 7:30 AM, a high tide at 1:27 PM, and another low tide at 6:34 PM. The next high tide will occur at 12:41 AM tomorrow. Sunrise was at 6:17 AM, and sunset is expected at 5:22 PM. The moon will set at 10:01 AM and rise again at 9:41 PM.
