By Zoila Palma:  The Climate Resilient Sustainable Agriculture Project (CRESAP) Project is taking key steps toward expanding its support to farmers across southern Belize.

This week, Project Coordinator Javier Garcia, Matching Grant Coordinator Roberto Harrison, and Procurement Assistant Orlando Coc held a preliminary meeting with the Board and technical staff of the Toledo Teachers Credit Union Ltd.

The meeting aimed to explore a potential partnership to implement the Matching Grant Program in the south, marking an encouraging move toward broadening the project’s reach.

Currently, only citrus and banana farmers in southern Belize are eligible for funding through the program.

However, the team confirmed that discussions are ongoing, and updates regarding the inclusion of other commodities will be announced as the expansion progresses.
