By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Christmas season officially begins tonight as the Belize City Council, in partnership with Coca-Cola, hosts its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2025 under the theme “A Christmas to Remember” in downtown Belize City at Battlefield and Mule Parks.
“Today’s the day we kick off the holidays together!” the Council said in issuing a festive invitation on Friday morning.
“Meet us on Albert Street starting at 6 pm to 10 pm for our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony for an enchanting evening of lights, music, and Christmas cheer.”

The evening will feature the Francis Reneau Concert Series: Christmas Edition. The Belizean composer and pianist will lead a lineup of performers in a heartwarming musical showcase designed to capture the joy of the season.
Families and visitors can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with twinkling lights, seasonal décor, and community spirit.
The event marks the ceremonial lighting of the Council’s Christmas trees, transforming Albert Street into a glowing celebration of unity and joy. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, dress festively, and enjoy the free public event.
