Chilly week continues with new cold front crossing tonight

37

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans are bracing for another cold front tonight, extending a stretch of unusually chilly weather that has already been felt across the country over the past week.

For several days now, cooler-than-normal temperatures have kept many residents bundled up, especially during the early mornings and overnight hours. Inland and hilly communities have felt the cold the most, with temperatures dropping into the low 50s and even upper 40s in some areas.

According to the latest forecast, fair and mostly dry conditions will hold through today, but skies will turn mostly cloudy tonight as the cold front crosses the country. A few showers or light rainfall are expected, mainly over offshore areas, followed by a noticeable drop in temperatures.

Once the front passes, cool and mostly dry conditions are expected to continue into Friday, offering little relief from the persistent chill.

With multiple cold fronts affecting Belize in a short span of time, meteorologists say the cool pattern is likely to linger, reminding Belizeans to continue taking precautions, especially for children, the elderly, and those vulnerable to the cold.

Sweater weather, it seems, isn’t going anywhere just yet.
