By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The future of Central American football takes center stage this week as the UNCAF Under 16 FIFA Forward Tournament kicks off in Guatemala City, bringing together eight national youth teams for an eight-day regional show. Hosted at the Centro Deportivo Ernesto Villa, the tournament runs from Wednesday, October 1 to Wednesday, October 8, with two matches played daily at 9:00 am and 12:00 pm local time during group play.
Group A features host nation Guatemala, alongside Panamá, Nicaragua, and Cuba, while Group B includes regional powerhouses Costa Rica and Honduras, along with El Salvador, and Belize. Delegations arrived on September 29 and 30, with all teams departing on Thursday, October 9.

– Guatemala vs. Cuba – Wednesday, Oct 1, 12:00 pm (Host nation’s opener)
– Costa Rica vs. Belize – Thursday, Oct 2, 12:00 pm (Belize’s debut)
