Belize have made history at the XII Juegos Centroamericanos, advancing to the semi-finals of the Women’s Volleyball Championship for the first time ever after topping Group B with a perfect 3–0 record.
On Sunday, Belize saw off Panama in straight sets (25–23, 25–20, 25–18), following earlier victories over Honduras (3–0) and hosts Guatemala (3–2). The result confirmed Belize as group winners and earned them a semi-final clash against Nicaragua, runners-up from Group A, scheduled for Monday at 2:00 p.m.
“Congratulations to Team Belize on advancing to the semifinals for the first time in the history of Belize’s participation in the Central American Games! Best of luck Team Belize!

Costa Rica, who led Group A, will face Guatemala in the other semi-final. Guatemala finished second to Belize in Group B.
Nelissa Ramirez led Belize’s scoring against Panama with 15 points, while Hashlyn Cuero posted 13 for the Panamanians. Belize have shown consistency and resilience throughout the tournament, particularly in their five-set triumph over Guatemala.
Panama, who placed fourth in Group B, will now contest the 6th/7th place match.
