The Belize attack proved too potent for their regional rivals, with Francis Hauze leading the scoring charts after registering a match-high 18 points. The side was ably supported by Kaelen Ingram, who contributed a vital 13 points in the straight-sets win. For Honduras, David Villatoro and Orbekko Brown were joint top scorers, both claiming 10 points, but their efforts were not enough to halt the Belizean momentum.
After a tightly contested first set that finished 25-23, Belize found their rhythm to take the next two sets 25-20 and 25-19, closing out the match in convincing style.
The victory mirrors the success of the Belize Women’s team, which also started their championship run with a win over Honduras, defeating them 3-1 earlier in the week.
In the same Group B fixture, Costa Rica were equally dominant, securing a 3-0 victory over El Salvador (25-17, 25-18, 26-24), placing both Costa Rica and Belize as joint leaders of the group.
Meanwhile, in Group A, Nicaragua pulled off a strong win against the hosts, defeating Guatemala 3-0 with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, and 25-22.
Both Belizean teams now face their toughest challenges of the preliminary round on Saturday, October 18, 2025—crucial matches for their path to the knockout stages:
