Belizean sailor Trent Hardwick secured a bronze medal in the ILCA 7 sailing event at the Centro Náutico de Amatitlán during the last day of the XII Central American Games in Guatemala, marking Belize’s 12th bronze medal of the tournament and expanding the country’s medal reach into yet another discipline.
Hardwick’s third-place finish was confirmed on Thursday, October 30, 2025, after a determined campaign that began with the daily regattas on Sunday, October 26. Hardwick made it count—placing Belize on the leaderboard in one of the Games’ most competitive sailing categories.
The final standings were:
1st Place: Juan Ignacio Maegli (Guatemala)
2nd Place: Diego Silvestre (Guatemala)- 3rd Place: Trent Hardwick (Belize)

Hardwick’s medal not only highlights Belize’s growing versatility across sports but also reflects the grit and perseverance of its athletes. With this result, Belize’s overall tally rose to 15 medals—including 1 gold, 2 silver, and 12 bronze—across disciplines such as billiards, canoeing, athletics, volleyball, basketball, and now sailing.
