Belize’s medal tally at the XII Central American Games climbed to nine on Sunday as Nain Jorge Rosado secured a bronze medal in billiards (8 Ball), marking the country’s second podium finish in cue sports in as many days.
Rosado’s medal followed the breakthrough performance by Selvani Yasmin Leiva, who earned bronze on Saturday in the women’s 8-Ball Championship. Together, their achievements signal a rising presence for Belize in regional billiards competition.
Competing with focus and finesse in Guatemala City, Rosado advanced through a competitive bracket to clinch third place, reinforcing the strength of the Belize Billiards National Team. His bronze adds to a growing list of accolades across multiple disciplines, including athletics, canoeing, volleyball, and now two in billiards.
Earlier on Sunday, Andres Cabb and Cristian Lopez claimed silver in the Men’s K2 1000m Canoe Sprint. Cabb also earned bronze in the Men’s K1 1000m Canoe Sprint. Canoeing secured four medals from six events over the weekend, highlighting Belize’s consistency and strength in the sport.
