By Zoila Palma: On November 26, 2025, the Central America Black Organization (CABO) commemorated its 30th anniversary and the second international decade for people of African descent at the Student Development Center at the University of Belize, Belmopan campus.
The day was celebrated through various remarks from stakeholders who continuously champion the safeguarding of African descendant heritage in Belize.
The event featured a panel discussion on African History, legacy and continuity by representatives of the University of Belize (Dr. Angel Cal), The National Garifuna Council Belmopan Chapter (Emily Martinez Palacio, President), ISCR-NICH (Rolando Cocom, Director) and the National Kriol Council (Wilford Felix, President).
