Born on July 17, 1960, Prime Minister Briceño has played a pivotal role in shaping Belize’s political landscape for decades.
A seasoned statesman and leader of the People’s United Party (PUP), he assumed office as Prime Minister on November 12, 2020, following a decisive victory in the general elections. His leadership brought an end to 12 years of United Democratic Party rule and signaled a new chapter for Belize through his administration’s Plan Belize agenda.
Notably, Prime Minister Briceño is the first head of government not born in Belize City, proudly representing his hometown of Orange Walk.
He resides there with his wife, Rossana, and their three sons, embodying the values of family, community, and service.
As the nation joins in celebrating this significant birthday, we extend our heartfelt wishes to Prime Minister Briceño for continued health, success, and visionary leadership.
