By Horace Palacio: Prime Minister John Briceño turns 64 today. Born on July 17, 1960, PM Briceño has been a central figure in Belizean politics, serving as Prime Minister since November 12, 2020. He led the People’s United Party (PUP) to victory in the 2020 general election, defeating the United Democratic Party.
Prime Minister Briceño is in Toledo East campaigning for the bye-election, which he scheduled for July 17th to coincide with his birthday. He committed to working diligently on this day to secure the seat for the PUP, stating to the media back in June, “The date is going to be July 17. It’s going to be my birthday, so I will be working on that day in Toledo East.”
PM Briceño, the first prime minister not from Belize City, lives with his wife Rossana and their three sons in Orange Walk. As he celebrates his birthday, best wishes are extended to Prime Minister Briceño for continued success and leadership.
