By Breaking Belize News Staff: A woman lost her life on Friday afternoon in a road traffic accident in Santa Familia Village, Cayo District. The victim has been identified as Elizabeth Rivera.
According to initial reports, Rivera was struck by a GMC truck reportedly driven by one of the workers involved in ongoing road works in the area. Witnesses say the collision occurred while crews were carrying out work along the village roadway.
Emergency personnel responded, but Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released further details on the circumstances of the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police are expected to provide an update as more information becomes available.
