By Zoila Palma: Today, Cayo North Area Representative Michel Chebat issued a statement extending condolences to the families of Special Constables Manuel Smith and Fidencia Osgalla who were shot and killed this morning in San Ignacio.
“The recent wave of senseless violence and heartbreaking murders in our communities cannot become our new normal. As your Area Representative for Cayo North, I stand deeply concerned and firmly condemn these acts that continue to rob families of their loved ones and our communities of peace,” Chebat said.
“We must come together neighbors, families, leaders to reject violence in all its forms. Silence and division only allow it to grow. Now more than ever, unity, vigilance, and community action are critical,” Chebat added.
Chebat further called on law enforcement authorities to carry out thorough, transparent, and timely investigations.
“Our people deserve justice. Every victim matters. Every family deserves answers.
Let us stand united for peace, for justice, and for the future of Cayo North. Enough is enough,” Chebat expressed.
