By Aaron Humes: Following two days of arguments and a visit to the residences in question in San Ignacio Town, Magistrate Kara Walters has stayed the registrations of new voters in the Cayo North constituency.

101 restrictions were laid by the Opposition United Democratic Party. It was found that the listed residence had a government office on the first floor and space on the second floor.

The opposing side said they would take the matter to the High Court, charging constitutional violations and that the case had not been concluded by the fifth day of the month per law.

Deputy UDP Chairman Alberto August, also a member of the Elections and Boundaries Commission, called the result a “win” as they showed the court that the new voters could not be found anywhere in polling area 73 which covers San Ignacio Town.
