By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Cayo Football Association is gearing up for the closing of the 2023-24 First Division Opening Season Championship Quarterfinals on Friday and Sunday, January 5-7, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.
The second and definitive leg of the quarterfinals will feature four exciting matches, with the winners advancing to the semifinals.
On Friday in the first quarterfinal match, Santa Elena Royals will face Flames at 7:00 pm. Flames have a 3-2 advantage from the first leg.
The second game will see Western Raiders tackle Bullet Tree. They are level having tied 3-3 in the first match.
On Sunday, Regulataz will attempt to overturn a 4-3 deficit against 7 Miles in the first game slated for 4:00 pm.
The final quarterfinal match will pit Cristo Rey against Alliance at 6:00 pm. Cristo Rey sport a commanding 3-0 lead from the first leg.
The admission fee is $5.00.
