By Aaron Humes: In a significant development in the murder investigation of Romualdo Vasquez, authorities have formally arrested a suspect linked to the case. The incident occurred on March 5, 2025, at West San Martin Street in Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District.
Charged with murder is 21-year-old Ashton Giovanni Cal, a shop attendant from Caye Caulker Village.
Upon his arrest, Cal was cautioned about his rights and chose to remain silent. He now faces a charge of murder in connection with the tragic death of Vasquez, a taximan who was stabbed several times following an argument after dropping off a fare.
Authorities have promised to continue the investigation as they piece together the events surrounding the case.
