By Aaron Humes: The month of May began with an unexpected killing in an unexpected corner of the Old Capital.
On Labour Day night, police found 61-year-old Carlos Avelar shot to death on Coney Drive after an encounter with two men on a motorcycle, one of whom opened fire on him.
Despite gathering surveillance footage from the area which is still being reviewed, police are yet to identify the shooters. Neither have they established a motive for this murder.
Police investigations continue.
