By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: More than 60 CARICOM Youth Ambassadors, youth leaders, and representatives of development and implementation partners were in attendance for the Opening Ceremony of the CARICOM Climate Change and Health Orientation and Training for CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (CYAs) and Youth Leaders.

The opening ceremony was held on April 22, 2024 at the CARICOM Secretariat in Guyana.

During the Ceremony, CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett stated, ‘We need to ensure that young people are enabled to be agents of change, with the power to shape a more resilient and sustainable future. This is critical in our CARICOM Region, where youth are 60 per cent of the population’

Other speakers included Minister of Health of Guyana Dr. Frank Anthony.
