By Aaron Humes: Earlier this Saturday morning, a Caribbean Sprinter boat ran aground on some mangroves in the area of Caye Chapel.
Representatives for the company say everyone on board was attended to immediately. Only one lady complained that her hand was hurting; she was transported to hospital for evaluation. All the other passengers are doing fine and there were no major injuries.
The same representatives explained that a new boat captain was involved who recently commenced working at Caribbean Sprinter and there was some steering issue. All safety procedures were adhered to and operations have resumed as normal; crews are trained to respond swiftly in such situations and the company will review its procedures to avoid a repeat.
