By Aaron Humes: A shooting incident this evening on Mountain View Boulevard in Belmopan claimed the life of a chicken truck driver. Reports indicate that the driver was shot twice in the head during an attempted robbery while operating a Caribbean Chicken delivery truck.
Eyewitnesses say that the driver, identified as Mark Anthony Gabourel, attempted to secure himself inside the vehicle as the suspects approached via motorcycle. Despite his efforts to protect himself, the assailants fired shots through the truck window, striking the driver in the head.
Gabourel was reportedly rushed immediately to hospital, but it has been reported that the driver succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Police are actively investigating the incident, and residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to police.
