By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize District Football Association First Division Closing Championship final is set to be a high-octane clash, as Tut Bay FC and Caesar Ridge FC go head-to-head in what promises to be an evenly matched encounter at 5:00 pm at the Marion Jones Sports Complex on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Both teams have already proven their parity, having battled to a 2-2 draw on Labour Day, May 1, in one of the most exciting matches of the regular season. That encounter saw Tut Bay strike first, with Calvin Thurton scoring in just the 3rd minute, igniting the intensity of the match. But Caesar Ridge quickly responded in the 27th minute, as Francis Arana pulled them level.
The second half saw more drama unfold, as Kenyon Pratt pushed Caesar Ridge ahead in the 58th minute, only for Dylan Belisle to bring Tut Bay back in the 82nd, ensuring the points were shared in a match that reflected the determination and skill of both teams.
Now, with the title on the line, the championship final sets the stage for what could be another nail-biting affair.
In addition to the much-anticipated final, the day will also feature the third-place match between Reggae Boyz and Kelly St. Bombers kicking off at 3:00 pm, adding more excitement to the BDFA’s grand finale of the season.
