Caesar Ridge FC move into 2nd place after 2–1 win over Reggae Boyz in BDFA Closing Championship

 Rubén Morales Iglesias: Caesar Ridge FC (CRFC) climbed into second place in the Belize District FA 2025–2026 1st Division Closing Championship after defeating Reggae Boyz FC 2–1 on Sunday at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City, tightening the race at the top of the standings.

CRFC struck early when Clayton Fitzgibbon finished in the 19th minute, giving his side the perfect start. Reggae Boyz responded just before halftime, with Albert Davis equalizing in the 45th minute to send the match into the break level at 1–1.

The second half remained competitive, but CRFC regained control when Demetre Augustine scored in the 67th minute, securing the victory and pushing Caesar Ridge to 10 points from a 3–1–0 record.

The loss keeps Reggae Boyz FC in fourth place with 7 points from two wins, one draw, and one loss.

Updated Standings Impact

  • Caesar Ridge FC: now 10 points, moving up to 2nd place
  • Reggae Boyz FC: remain on 7 points, staying in 4th place

The result played a major role in reshaping the top of the table, especially with Tut Bay FC winning the 3K Match later in the evening to move to 13 points. CRFC’s victory ensures they remain firmly in the title chase as the championship intensifies.
