By Zoila Palma: The highly anticipated Cacao Cup is set to take center stage during the Chocolate Festival of Belize, bringing together chocolate enthusiasts and cacao producers for a day of competition and celebration.
The event will be held on May 17, 2026, in San Pedro Columbia Village as part of the festival activities in southern Belize.
The Cacao Cup will showcase the richness of Belize’s cacao industry, offering participants and spectators an opportunity to experience the craftsmanship and tradition behind local chocolate production.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to attract community members, industry stakeholders, and visitors.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top competitors, with BZD $1,250 for first place, $950 for second place, and $600 for third place. A registration fee of $75 is required for participants. Interested individuals can obtain further details by contacting organizer Orlando Coc.
Beyond the competition, the event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with food, drinks, games, and entertainment.
