By Zoila Palma: In a move aimed at increasing tourism from southern Mexico, Cabinet has approved a series of measures to make travel to Belize more accessible for visitors from the Mexican states of Campeche, Yucatán, Tabasco, Chiapas, and Quintana Roo.
Under the new policy, exit taxes will be waived for visitors from these states who stay in Belize for up to seven days.
Additionally, Cabinet approved the introduction of a Visitor’s Digital Border Crossing Card to streamline the entry process.
As part of the initiative, eligible visitors will also be permitted to enter the country with their private vehicles without incurring import duties, fees, or levies.
