By Aaron Humes: Businessman Wallace Usher was involved in a shooting incident near the intersection of Logwood and Sarstoon Street on Wednesday. Reports indicate that Usher was grazed in the face during the exchange of gunfire but has fortunately sustained only non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident reportedly unfolded around 5:07 PM when residents in the vicinity of Vernon Street, near the Berger Field area, heard gunshots.
Usher, known for his entrepreneurial spirit, is planning to open his Mahogany Supermarket in Belize City this Saturday – one of the few owned by a non-Asian Belizean. After the incident, he reassured those concerned for his wellbeing on social media, simply stating, “I’m good.”
The police have launched an investigation into the shooting. As of now, the motives behind the attack remain unclear.
