By Aaron Humes: A burglary reported at a residential apartment in Belize City is under investigation by the police.
The break-in and theft occurred between March 29 and April 5 at the Chon Saan Restaurant Building on Kelly Street, a three-story building which also hosts apartments.
According to the complainant, unknown individuals gained access to his apartment, situated on the third floor of the building. The burglars specifically targeted his 15-year-old son’s bedroom, taking several valuable items.
Among the stolen goods were a gold ring adorned with stones, valued at $1,000, a gold-plated bracelet featuring a three-leaf clover, valued at $100, and a 14-carat Cuban link gold bracelet worth $1,500. In addition to the jewelry, the burglars made off with $380 in cash, bringing the total estimated loss to $2,980.
