By Aaron Humes: The Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Primary School was burglarized this morning in Belize City. Belize City Police received the report around 7:54 AM from school Principal Karole Collins.
According to Collins, the burglary occurred sometime between 1:00 AM and 7:12 AM, targeting a Standard 6 classroom on the lower floor of the school. Thieves made off with several valuable items, including a cream-colored 4K mini projector valued at $275, two Lasko brand fans—one white and one black—each worth $100, assorted stationery items totalling $250, and toiletries worth $180. The overall loss is estimated at $905.
Investigators noted that entry was gained by prying open a deadbolt lock on an aluminum door located on the western side of the building.
Surveillance footage from the premises was reviewed and is expected to provide useful leads in the investigation, although there were no immediate suspects identified.
Police investigations continue.
