By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) and the San Ignacio & Santa Elena Town Council have officially signed a groundbreaking agreement to manage and operate a Concierge Desk at the Cayo Welcome Center.
The agreement, signed this week, marks a five-year partnership aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and reinforcing tourism services in the heart of the Cayo District. The Concierge Desk will serve as a central point for travel assistance, tour referrals, visitor information, and the promotion of local businesses and cultural events. It will also highlight Belizean art, locally made products, and community-focused sustainability efforts.
BTIA and the Town Council expressed a shared vision of transforming the Welcome Center into a model of destination development and community-driven tourism. Special appreciation was extended to Mayor Earl Trapp and his team for their vital support in the initiative.
