By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) has revealed that it allocated just under $20 million this year to marketing Belize as a premier travel destination. According to BTB Director of Tourism Evan Tillett, the substantial investment is critical to maintaining Belize’s visibility in competitive global markets, especially as the industry strives to sustain strong arrival numbers.

Tillett explained that nearly half of the BTB’s budget is derived from the hotel tax and other tourism-related revenue streams, making marketing one of the organization’s largest commitments. While the bulk of spending goes toward promoting Belize abroad, a portion is also used to support local product development, ensuring that what visitors experience matches the expectations set by the marketing campaigns.

He emphasized that global representation is essential to Belize’s growth, with BTB maintaining marketing agencies in Europe, Mexico, Central America, South America, Canada, and the United States. These agencies help amplify Belize’s image, communicate its unique offerings, and attract overnight visitors year-round.

Tillett says the goal is clear: keep Belize top-of-mind for travelers and maintain the tourism momentum that has fueled strong visitor arrivals into 2025 and 2026.
