By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Belize Tourism Board has celebrated the success of 13 Belizean chefs who earned professional culinary certifications through a rigorous programme delivered in partnership with the American Culinary Federation.
The initiative, implemented through BTB’s Elevate Training Institute, focused on advancing skills, professionalism, and global competitiveness within Belize’s culinary sector. Chefs trained over several months, gaining hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge before sitting both written and practical examinations.
During the ceremony, Nicole Usher, CEO of the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports, and Diaspora Relations, emphasized that the certifications represent more than personal achievements. She encouraged the newly certified chefs to mentor others and contribute to the long-term growth of Belize’s tourism product.
The event was attended by BTB leadership, industry partners, and representatives from the hotel and tourism sector. Officials say the programme strengthens Belize’s position as an emerging culinary destination, ensuring visitors experience high-quality, authentic, and world-class dining across the country.
