By Aaron Humes: At this hour, the Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association (BSCFA) has issued an ultimatum of up to 2 p.m. this afternoon to resolve the latest impasse in resolving the commercial agreement.

According to Vice-chairman Alfredo Ortega, the Association wants the P.M. to convince BSI/ASR not to limit the economic analysis on the terminal shipping charges shared by the parties, which analysis is to be conducted within 90 days.

Ortega says that if this is not met, BSCFA will not sign an agreement of longer than one year on their previous terms.

The farmers are awaiting word at the SIRDI compound in Buena Vista, Corozal District.
