By Zoila Palma:  The British Army Training Support Unit Belize (BATSUB) recently partnered with the Belize Maya Forest Trust (BMFT) and the Western Environmental and Conservation Forest (WEACF) for a major tree-planting and conservation effort.

Together, the groups planted over 550 native Lysiloma Latisiliquum trees across three plots, aiming to restore ecological balance in disturbed forest areas.

The initiative brought BATSUB personnel together with local farmers, the Belize Defence Force, and BMFT staff, fostering collaboration while promoting environmental sustainability.

Organizers emphasized that the project not only supports forest restoration but also strengthens ties between BATSUB and Belize’s conservation community.

BATSUB highlighted its commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.
