By Deborah Reneau, Founder of EduBalance: There’s something deeply powerful that happens when communities come together — not just to teach, but to reflect, reconnect, and lead with purpose. That’s exactly what unfolded over the past three days, as teachers and staff from Saint Ignatius High School and Eden High School gathered for a joint professional development workshop facilitated by EduBalance.

What made this experience so unique is that these two schools, while serving the same beautiful Belizean community, operate under two different managements — Saint Ignatius under Catholic leadership and Eden under the Adventist mission. And yet, for three remarkable days, the focus wasn’t on differences — it was on shared values, collaboration, and growth.

This powerful training was made possible through the vision and partnership of two forward-thinking leaders — Principal Jeannene Neal of Saint Ignatius and Principal Francisco Pivaral of Eden. Their mutual belief in teacher renewal and collaboration paved the way for something truly special.

Facilitated by Deborah Reneau, founder of EduBalance, and guest presenter Ms. Jyselle Pinelo, the workshop explored real-life challenges and solutions. Topics included: Work-life balance and burnout recovery, self-care and sustainability in teaching, positive school culture, classroom management that works, and teacher leadership and professional identity. Sessions were interactive, reflective, and grounded in the realities of our Belizean classrooms. Teachers left not only with tools and strategies, but with a sense of emotional renewal, laughter, and connection.

At EduBalance, we believe that no one thrives alone — and that when educators are well, schools flourish. We specialize in professional development workshops, motivational speaking, and leadership coaching — with a focus on balance, mindset, and teacher wellbeing.

As the new school year approaches, we proudly wish both Saint Ignatius and Eden High — and all schools across Belize — clarity, strength, and renewed balance.

Because when schools unite, communities win. And when teachers rise, students soar.
