By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Prime Minister John Briceño met with two Belizean cadets currently studying at the Honduran Military Academy during his official welcome ceremony in Honduras.
Cadets Fernando Valladarez and Perfecto Aldana were on hand during the military reception marking the start of the Prime Minister’s official visit, which includes a meeting with President Nasry Asfura.
The engagement highlights growing defence cooperation between Belize and Honduras, and the opportunities being created for Belizean officers to pursue professional military education abroad.
Military academy training abroad gives young Belizean officers exposure to systems, doctrine and standards they would not otherwise encounter, and those officers typically return to serve in the Belize Defence Force.
The visit is focused on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing cooperation between the two countries.
