By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Health and Wellness, in collaboration with Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceño, the Belize Cancer Society, UNICEF Belize, and Dr. Shenin Sachedina, is conducting a series of Point-of-Care Breast Wellness ultrasound trainings across the country to improve early detection of breast cancer.
On Wednesday, healthcare professionals from the Western and Central regions, including medical officers and radiologists, gathered in Belmopan for a focused training session.
The initiative, held under the theme “If you feel something, say something,” aims to equip frontline medical personnel with enhanced skills for identifying breast lesions at early stages.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to expanding breast cancer screening services and improving women’s health outcomes nationwide.
Members of the public are encouraged to contact the Maternal and Child Health Unit at their nearest regional or community hospital for more information on breast wellness services.
