BREAKING: Leader of the Opposition filing burglary report; should Alliance have gone to court?

Posted: Monday, October 28, 2024. 3:21 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams told reporters this afternoon that Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow is presently filing a burglary report concerning this morning’s activities at the headquarters of the United Democratic Party (UDP).

Police will investigate and lay charges if warranted, Williams said, despite being unfortunately drawn into the Party dispute.

Officers were sent to the headquarters on Youth for the Future Drive shortly after Alliance for Democracy members entered the premises and took over the first floor. They will remain until the matter is resolved, hopefully soon.

According to the Commissioner, as the UDP is not a legally recognized entity, a dispute over its assets such as this should be resolved in court. Police will ensure there is no further damage to property at the building until that can be done.

More on this shortly.
