By Aaron Humes: Alan Slusher, the former Governor of the Central Bank who is currently a consultant and longtime civil servant, was the subject of a home invasion earlier tonight according to police.
Slusher, 78, had just come home from work around 6:30 p.m. and parked his grey Toyota Hilux, license plate BZC 38871, in front of his residence in Burrell Boom, Belize District, when four men, three of whom carried weapons, held him up at gunpoint.
They stole his nine-millimeter pistol and the Hilux after ransacking the house and taking his vehicle keys, while he was tied up with wire and duct tape. He was able to free himself and call police, who are now investigating.
