By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A daring early morning burglary has left Pletts Electronics in Orange Walk Town counting major losses after thieves gained entry by breaking through a cement wall.
Police say they received a report at approximately 2:54 a.m. of a burglary in progress at the business, which is situated at the corner of Cinderella Street and Queen Victoria Avenue. Officers responded promptly and canvassed the area, but no suspects were located.
Investigations revealed that the intruders gained access by creating a hole in a cement wall on the side of the building adjacent to the Adventist Church. The breach allowed them entry into the warehouse portion of the establishment.
Officials report that about forty five thousand dollars in cash was stolen, along with an assortment of high end cellular phones and electronic gadgets. The total value of the stolen devices has not yet been determined.
The scene was examined, and the case has been officially turned over to the Criminal Investigation Branch as police continue their investigation.
