By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The stage is set for a fierce battle tonight as the San Pedro Tiger Sharks welcome the EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers to the Belize City Civic Center for Game 1 of the BPBL Toucan Cup Finals. The best-of-three series tips off at 9:00 pm, with both teams locked in pursuit of a spot in the Jaguars Cup Final.
The winner will advance to face the Mayan Conference champion—either the Western Ballaz or the Belize City Thunderbolts—in the national championship series starting September 26.
Game 2 heads south to the Russell ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga next Friday, September 12, at 9:00 pm. If needed, Game 3 returns to Belize City on Sunday, September 14, at 4:00 pm.
San Pedro enters with championship pedigree and a roster built for clutch moments. Francis Arana commands the offense with veteran poise, while Brian White anchors the paint and leads the rebounding effort. The Tiger Sharks are known for their perimeter shooting and playoff composure.
