By Aaron Humes: Following the mishap on Friday night that claimed the life of American national Jennifer Hernandez on Ambergris Caye, police have laid charges against a Belizean identified as her boyfriend.
Jeremy Flores is accused of reckless driving, driving without due care and attention, causing death by careless conduct, and failing to provide a specimen for analysis – the latter charge is because he was suspected to have been consuming alcohol.
According to police, she was on the Secret Beach Road with her partner in a golf cart that Flores was driving. The driver hit a bump on the road and she fell out, sustaining head and body injuries – she subsequently died while being treated at the San Pedro Town Polyclinic.
